August favourites! Both beauty and non-beauty products :D
06:12Another good evening dear BeYOUties! Can you believe that this is the last official day of August!! NO MORE SUMMER :( how has it flown by this quick!? Probably just to annoy us when we're having too much fun I suppose...I'm personally not looking forward to going back to school, 2 days from now I'll be in that wretched hell hole again, why I ask you!? But to lighten the mood I thought I'd share with you my beauty secrets from August cos we all had to somehow survive the blistering heat even if some of us were in England *jealous face to all of you who live in sunny hot places* (apart from my lovely holiday which wasn't in England) xx just a quick little disclaimer to mention that no companies have asked me to do this, these items are all for mine and your benefit. These are my personal favourites and all these products were selected as my genuine favourites myself. So with that out the way, let's get started:
1) Benefit Hoola Bronzer- this bronzer is perfect for the sun kissed look we all crave for during the summer, but instead of waiting to get the tanned look from endless sunbathing which for me, I only end up burnt, apply the bronzer with a few sweeps and your a natural beauty. Since I have such fair skin, yes I look like a ghost and it's so unfair, I liked applying this bronzer as it wasn't to thick and orangey looking. Although you do have to be careful to not apply too much of it as it will become streaky and you don't want to look like an orange zebra! 2) The body shop pink grapefruit shower gel- oh my god, this smells absolutely frigging Georgous! When I picked it up in store I swooned it smelt so beautiful and the bonus is that it lasts forever. The colour is lovely and it foams very nicely, it also leaves a long lasting scent so no perfume is required afterwards. I deffinately recommend this one!
3) Rimmel stay matte powder in the shade 01 transparent- this is perfect for those days where it's extremely hot outside and you don't want to look like a sweaty shiny pig, the application of it lasts a fair while, although not all day so you may have to reapply later on but this powder comes everywhere with me! overall it deffinately keeps the sweat in *if you apply a good amount* and smells rather lovely too. Even though there have been complaints with the packaging, I find it okay and not liable to breakage so if you were wondering about that, I haven't had any problems with it so far x
4) Munch bunch squashums yoghurt- While taking pictures of my favourites I had to restrain myself from taking one of these adorable little yoghurt shapes from the packaging as I tell you, they taste soooo good! They're perfect for packed lunches and are a quick option for a healthy snack. Finally how adorable are they?!
5) Treseme 24 hour body shampoo-This shampoo truly brings out the shine in my hair and has deffinately helped it grow to my current and rather long length. Bored of your shampoo, try this one or any from the endless Treseme collection which is most suited to your hair and you can't go wrong! It lasts forever and feels very high quality.
6) Claires hair bows-These are just three, more summery looking patterns from my never ending collection of around 50 bows, yes 50 :D I am addicted to hair bows, they just complete your hairstyle and outfit and there are too many patterns and designs that I love so much! They also look like you've spent much more time with your hair when secretly you haven't ;)
7) H&M denim shorts- a must for beach days and sunny weather, they are so comfortable and are high waisted so stay up, which is a plus for me seeing as I never fit any shorts! However they are rather short so if you're more comfortable with that little bit longer length then these won't be for you x
8) Batiste dry shampoo in the flavour cherry- batiste is a must for dull, greasy or tired hair. Just spritz and go and admire the bold fruity scent which lingers nicely. If you aren't up for cherry smelling hair, batiste offers so many other flavours, but cherry is the one to go for in summer!
1) Gilly Hicks spray in the scent Loring aster- this is the perfect summery spritz and I have used it nearly every day! I know gilly hicks has shut it's stores but if you want a good summery shade then go to its sister shop hollister where the sprays are equally as nice.
2) nectarines- are my new favourite fruit and are seriously delicious! They are a very light snack and taste wonderful :D
3) Mandara spa hand cream-This does wonders! Your hands and feet feel Georgous after this has been applied and the smell is luxurious. No wonder it's called mandara spa :D
4) The Body shop dreams limited body lotion- makes you super soft and is best used after the bath or shower. The smell is not as great but the application is easy to use and spreads very well, it also doesn't make you feel clammy or sticky.
5) Dorothy Perkins gold chain- my favourite summer accessory which goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. You can't go wrong with this and it's not too heavy either! Haha x
6) H&M nail stickers- from my £10 nail challenge post I did at the start of summer, I have been using these tons and even my mum has had her tootsies accessorised with the cute little designs! These are so easy to apply and stay on very well even if you're going swimming!
7) The Body shop vitamin e moisture mask- great for dry skin like I have and leaves your skin feeling soft and nicely quenched when the moisture has sinked in. If you are planning to get this, just don't apply it before going out as it will leave your face shiny and looking a bit sweaty, although you can apply make up straight after you've applied it.
1)Maybelline baby lips in Pink Punch- you've got to love baby lips! The packaging and names are adorable and the scent of the balms is heavenly, if you haven't tried pink punch already, the shade is a lovely bright pink and can also act as nude if you only apply one layer. At the same time your lips are beautifully moisturised and leave them feeling silky smooth once the colour has faded. An amazing summer shade I 100% reccomend!2)garnier sun cream for kids (very high) - if I even look at the sun I get burnt. But with the very high protection I can stay out all day long right in the heat of the sun and not even get a little red. I know it says for kids but to be honest I couldn't care less, as long as it does it's job which it does remarkably well x
3) dove deodorant- lasts all day and the scent is amazing. Very fruity and is easy to chuck in your handbag if you want a top up!
4)Rita Ora Rimmel white nail varnish- white nail varnish has deffinately been a hit this summer with all the makeup brands running out of the popular shade. Mine was typically the last one and even had money off it so of course I whipped it off the shelves immediately. The white shade cleverly makes you look more tanned and is not too streaky and bland. Thumbs up all round.
6) Dorothy Perkins halter 2 in 1 Halter and bandeau bikini top and ruffled white bikini bottoms- even though it looks like a set the bottoms are not the official partner of the top because I'm a rebel and wanted plain white ones rather then being totally floral. I love the colours on the top and it looks lovely when you're swimming, lounging in the sun or even in the jacuzzi!
1) Armani exchange sunglasses- for a more upmarket and stylish feel I went to Armani and purchased their sunglasses. I am not that type of person who always looses their sunglasses so I treated myself for some more expensive shades and love them to pieces. I really recommend Armani to those of you who are considering some more expensive shades.2) Mel owl sandals- these are so comfy and look lovely on. The colour of red is truly beautiful but this picture doesn't give it justice as it looks more orangey and bright on here. They were also quite cheap and I adore the owls on the front. You may have seen me wear these in my ' How to style an outfit with a kimono' shoot.
3) Hollister fringe vest in one size only- this has been my favourite summer piece along with my kimono as they both look lovely with shorts and create that festival look. I also love the fact that it's not too long and feels very light and airy.
